Security forces foil militant infiltration bid in Indian Kashmir

India's Border Security Force (BSF) foiled an infiltration bid by militants in the Samba sector along the border area in Indian Kashmir

According to the officials, BSF sentinels had noticed suspicious movement along the international border in Samba sector on Thursday night. A round of retaliatory fire by the forces forced the intruders to return.

There was no injury or casualty recorded on either side, according to the media reports.

Disputed by nuclear-armed neighbours India and Pakistan, Kashmir is regarded as one of the world’s most dangerous potential flashpoints. India accuses the Pakistan army of training and infiltrating militants into Kashmir to stir trouble in the valley. Pakistan denies the charge.
