Trump honors World Series champs at the White House

President Donald Trump honored the Houston Astros on Monday (March 12) for their first World Series win that Trump said was even more meaningful following the devastation Hurricane Harvey wrought on the Texas city.

Houston defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 7 last year to clinch the title. Trump, who played baseball in high school, declared it “was one of the greatest baseball games anybody has ever seen.”

Some of the Astros players did not attend the East Room ceremony citing “family obligations”. The Golden State Warriors were disinvited from a similar ceremony

recently due to some players declaring that they would boycott a White House visit due to opposition to various Trump policies.

President Donald Trump also appeared to suggest that there could be another tax cut bill on the way in some impromptu comments during the ceremony .
