Clubbing reaches new depths with underwater dance floor

Hundreds of music fans descended into the world's deepest swimming pool in the Italian city of Padua for a multi-sensory experience

Performing live from an underwater viewing tunnel, Berlin-based artist Peggy Gou and London DJ Artwork played their beats through a sub-aqua sound system.

Partygoers wore SeaTREK diving helmets and turned the pool into a dancefloor in what organisers say is the first event of its kind.

The event called ‘Deep House’ was created by beer brand Desperados in the Y-40 Deep Joy pool, which reaches 42-metres in depth and holds a mammoth 4.3 million litres of water.

The diving centre opened in June 2014 and is located in the commune of Montegrotte Terme, about 45 kilometres west of Venice.
