Trump to send Air Force One to Houston for Bush casket

U.S. President Donald Trump said Saturday (December 1) he will be sending the Air Force One to pick up George H.W. Bush's casket from Texas and bring it to Washington, where the late president will lie in state in the Capitol starting Monday.

“We’ll be sending Air Force One, which is a special tribute that he deserves very much and it’s my honor, and again, he’ll be greatly missed. Terrific person, terrific man,” Trump said at the G-20 summit in Buenos Aires when he was meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Bush, the 41st U.S. president who served in the office from 1989 to 1993, routed President Saddam Hussein’s Iraqi army in the 1991 Gulf War but lost his chance for a second term in the White House after breaking a no-new-taxes pledge.

He also served for eight years as U.S. vice president during Ronald Reagan’s two-term presidency and earlier as head of the CIA. Bush died on Friday night in Houston, Texas.
