Hemu Village in Xinjiang, a hidden heaven

Heavy snowfall has decorated Hemu Village in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region turning into a scene from a winter fairytale.

Located within the Kanas Lake scenic area in north Xinjiang, Hemu is a quiet, picturesque village high in the mountains scattered with wooden huts and now blanketed by thick snow.

The snow season in this region lasts seven months, making the area’s snow resort the ideal location for those eager for the feeling of winter.

Thanks to the improvements in transportation and the winter heating supply in the area, this comparatively isolated place now attract even more people each year to enjoy the splendid snow and ice world.
