Woman shot at catholic church in Cypress

The man accused of fatally shooting his ex-wife and severely injuring his daughter is now dead.

Authorities were on the scene yesterday after 62-year-old Arthur Edigin allegedly shot into another vehicle in the parking lot of Christ The Redeemer Catholic Church in Cypress.

He shot his ex-wife, a 62-year-old woman and she was pronounced dead, his 31-year-old daughter was also shot and underwent surgery and was in critical condition.

Deputies believe this was a case of domestic dispute and the Harris Country Sherriff’s office began an active search for Edigin who fled the scene.

This morning, SWAT officers surrounded an Extended Stay American hotel on West Sam Houston Parkway near Westheimer. After a standoff, officers entered the hotel room and found the 62-year-old dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
