Breathtaking bravery as freeriders abseil from Zeppelin above Austrian Alps

Three free-riders desire to experience fresh snow went to extreme lengths recently when they abseiled 50 metres down from a Zeppelin onto a mountain-top in the Austrian Alps.

Last month, Austrian free-riders Stefan Ager, Andreas Gumpenberger and Fabian Lentsch stepped out of the Zeppelin above the top of the 2,233-metre high Kleiner Valkastiel mountain and abseiled down onto the untouched snow.

Once on the mountain-top, they took it in turns to either ski or snowboard down the mountain into the Brandnertal Valley.

It took the crew two years of intensive preparation to make this project a success.
