Putin says U.S. seen spreading its own jurisdiction across globe

Russian President Vladimir Putin said at an economic forum, attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping in St Petersburg on Friday (June 7), that the United States was trying to enforce its legal power across the world.

“We are concerned that the destructive practice affects not only traditional markets – energy, commodity, trade market – but is also shifting to new, developing markets. For instance, the situation with Huawei which is being not only pushed back but unceremoniously forced out from the global market. In certain circles they name it the first technology war of the coming digital era,” said Putin.

Putin also said on he was concerned by what he called attempts to force Chinese technology giant Huawei out of the global market.

Economic Forum in St Petersburg opened on Wednesday (June 5) and will last until Saturday 8th.
