The 21-year-old wildlife warrior announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend, Chandler Powell, on Instagram, writing, “On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life.”

“Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness. I’m so looking forwarding to spending our forever together as your wife,” Bindi stated.

She finished the loving caption with: “Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose and unconditional love. – Now let’s get married already!”

Terri Irwin tweeted out Wednesday, “I am so very happy, and I know Steve would be too. Congratulations!”

Bindi’s father, Steve, was known by many as a fearless conservationist. After his death in 2006, his wife Terri, son Robert and daughter Bindi have continued his efforts, maintaining the Australia Zoo.

Last year, the Irwins returned to television with a new show called, “Crikey! It’s the Irwins,” on Animal Planet.
