U.S. gov’t is taking us backward on climate change, says Bloomberg

C40 Board President Michael R. Bloomberg blamed the U.S. government for taking the world backwards on climate change during a speech in Copenhagen on Thursday (October 10).

Bloomberg’s comments came during his opening statement at the C40 World Mayors summit in Denmark, an event which brings mayors from the world’s largest and most influential cities together.

However, Bloomberg also said that a lack of support from the federal government was no excuse for local governments to try to tackle climate change.

C40 is a global network of cities pushing for climate action.
