India hosts International Sand Art Festival

Hundreds locals and tourist flocked to Chandrabhaga beach on Sunday (December 1) as the International Sand Art Festival kicked off in India’s eastern Odisha state.

The sand sculptures were carved by around 100 artists from across the globe including Denmark, the U.S., Africa, Ireland, and Russia.

The five-day-long festival involves artists showcasing their talents through different themed sculptures. 

At the same time, the Konark Festival is taking place which celebrates Odisha’s rich culture and tradition through colourful dance performances with the Konark temple offering the backdrop to the stage.
