New York subway riders drop their pants for annual event

An unseasonably warm winter day proved a perfect condition for the annual No Pants Subway Ride event in New York on Sunday (January 12).

Started by the comedy group Improv Everywhere in 2002, the event has spread globally and encourages people to take off their pants while riding on the train. According to a Twitter posting from organizers, the event is about “reclaiming public spaces in a positive light.”
